SCENIC APP SUPPORT

I hope that this app designed for easy sharing and creating of routes, will have an Android version this spring but in the meantime for those with iPhones, you may want to d/l this freebie.
This thread is intended for people to share their knowledge about using the app, both its benefits and limitations.
As with many apps, there is a subscription available for increased functionality but I’ve been able to both plan and run tours with it – without spending a dime.
As many people have found out, the Garmins can be finicky, GPX files need to be up and/or downloaded and the settings as well as model of your Garmin can affect how a route is displayed.
On top of all that, almost all in car navigation systems will not accept a user generated GPX file so you pretty much have to use your phone – either on it’s own or perhaps with (supported) apple car play.
So I am promoting a move towards a simple universal way to create and share routes.
This app may not turn out to be the best solution – but it’s a start.
